he PADI Scuba Diver and Junior Scuba Diver
course is a subcourse within the Open
Water
Diver course that teaches student divers
the foundational knowledge and skills
needed
to dive under the supervision of a certified
divemaster, assistant instructor or
instructor.
The student diver will complete knowledge and confined water skills for modules 1, 2 and 3 of the Open Water Diver course and dives 1 and 2. PREREQUISITES: 1. PADI Scuba Diver certification, must be a minimum of 15+ years of age. 2. PADI Junior Scuba Diver certification must be age 12, age 10 at instructor discretion. 3. Must complete a PADI medical statement indicating you are in good health to dive. It is always recommended that you consult your own personal physician before diving and receive a signed, written certification from him/her indicating you are in good health to dive. This certification should always be kept in your log book. CERTIFICATION: 1. PADI Scuba Diver & Junior Scuba Diver certification allow you to dive any where in the world. 2. PADI Scuba Diver & Junior Scuba Diver certification are valid for the rest of your life, however if you do not dive regularly you will be asked to do a check out dive and/or possibly a scuba review. 3. PADI Scuba Diver & Junior Scuba Diver maximum recommended depth is no more than 12 meters, unless under direct supervision of an instructor. 4. PADI Scuba Diver & Junior Scuba Diver must dive under the supervision of a certified divemaster, assistant instructor or instructor. 5. PADI Scuba Diver and Junior Scuba Diver certification DOES NOT ALLOW you to rent equipment and dive with any certified dive buddy independent of supervision. 5. PADI Scuba Divers and Junior Scuba Divers can continue their education by completing the remainder of the PADI Open Water/Jr Open Water Diver course, at any PADI dive centre. It is highly recommended that this be completed within a reasonable time after the scuba diver course, as the examination for the remainder of the PADI Open Water Diver certification covers the entire manual, not only that covered in the last portion. |
