Formentor Island
In the quiet bay of Formentor, there is a
small island set only about 50 meters, from
the shore. It is uninhabited, apart
from seagulls and small trees. Underwater,
it is less barren, with a gully running into
the island and a lovely swim through in about
14 meters. Once we anchor drop down
to 12 m and follow a wall round on your right
hand side. Look in the crevasses for
Moray eel and Grouper. Once round the wall
you will find the swimthrough which is a
regular haunt of Barracuda and reasonably
sized Bream. On the return check the gully
for octopus and the occasional scorpionfish.
There is a wreck of a small yacht a little
way off the point.
